Key won't come out in Park

[2002 Maxima SE]

Help! My key keeps getting stuck in the ignition when the car is in park. To release it, I have to push the lever further into park. Is there some sort of switch in the column that controls this?

You may need a new lock cylinder. They get worn out after that many years. I have a '85 S-10 that doesn't even need a key to start, lol.
