I decided to wash my car this weekend (It's a '93 Lexus ES300 two tone) with Turtle wax Ice car wash, Turtle Wax Ice clay bar (I also used it on the widows to get rid of all of the rain x build up I had on there), and Nufinish polish. I will have to say, my car has one AWESOME shine to it, and the water beads off of it wonderfully!

I love Nu-Finish's results, but it's got to be one of the hardest waxes to wipe off that I've ever used. I didn't realize it was so much work until I used something else. It's been my experience that paste waxes can sometimes be harder to both apply and remove, but that theory went to ---- when I used Black Magic paste. I won't be using NuFinish again until I get an orbital buffer to remove it with. But I do love its shine and longevity.

Pics to prove it? I actually play to pick up some Ice during lunch -- if Costco still has it. I only plan to use it on trim -- as several have stated it works excellent for.

Don't expect Ice polish to stay on for long, Mine stayed on for 2 weeks if even that...But then again that wasen't on trim, that was on my whole car

NuFinish is good stuff:

I finally Nufinished my truck again, after a year. It wasn't beading much anymore, which wasn't bad as it was a hastily applied job last year. This time I was rushing again as it was sprinkling off and on, and waited for a dry spell to wipe it down and polish it. A toothbrush with 'black again' seemed to do well removing the polish on the black plastic.

All four vehicles are finally Nufinished, just in time for the rainy season, to enjoy the water beads until next year :^)

NuFinish is not bad all things considered. I use Zaino for my 2000 Trans Am WS6 that stays in the garage, but I use NuFinish for my Neon that sits outside year round. Can't complain for something that is only 6 bucks and easy to apply. I'm at probably 6 months right now and it still beads like new.

Please don't waste your time with Ice Clay bar...get the real thing..Mothers..Clay magic whatever your local Auto Parts store has..it will do 10 times better job..for 12-15$$ ...

NXT is a good product..Meg considers it thier best..some people feel Nu fish is like Amsoil ...a lot of claims so they instantly don't like it ..even thoughthey haven't tried it

...You can find a lot of positive posts ( do a search ) on Nufinish...but usually when someone bashes it...they haven't used it
I haven't used it ..but my Mom did about twice a year ion her 88 accord..sold it last year ...paint looked as good as when she got it in 1990 ...

I like it. I think it is a very good product. I just plan on using it on my new Subaru and not use anything else. I put it on after I had the car a week. So a clay bar should never be necessary. We'll see.

Down falls for NuFinish compared to NXT... I used NXT on my beater car before I switched to Nufinish... NXT makes the car look a lot better than NuFinish does and it is a lot easier to apply and remove. The thing that I hate about NXT is you are lucky to see a month of water beadage with it. For the beater car where I don't have time to be constantly detailing it, NuFinish is an easy one step solution.

This is what I use. Cheap for professionals but gives good results. It's thick and creamy. Bought these years ago and store them in a cool dark area. At $6/gallon($100 worth) couldn't go wrong. Miracle Wax Cream

No matter how soon you wax a new car, and how often you wax a car, clay barring is something that still needs to be done periodically because of the amount of airborne pollutants. Many people with brand new cars have reported that when they clay barred their new finish it was full of contamination. Especially new cars transported on trains, they get a lot of rail dust on the finish.

I usually put NuFinish on my 11 year old Cherokee sometime in the early summer and then again in September, and it looks pretty good and beads water until next summer.

It's a tradition. When someone mentions Nu-Finish, you can count on seeing pics of the Red Z-28.

NuFinish may be a lot of things, but comparitive to Amsoil is delving into fantasyland. There is nothing state-of-the-art in NuFinish, no 21st century technology, no leading edge chemistry in the stuff. It's been around for decades in pretty much the same form with little apparent changes.

A better analogy would be comparing NuFinish to motor oil you can buy at Big Lots or Walmart. It's an OK product for those who value low price, "good enough" performance and easy availability over all else. If you're happy with Super Tech motor oil, you'll prolly be happy with NuFinish. Actually, in some way Super Tech oil is more advanced than NuFinish, but an Amsoil competitor it ain't.

Funny thing is it would look better with Zaino,Rejex or most other sealants.

In previous threads I've posted comparisons of Zaino vs NuFinish on cars that sat outside, and Zaino provided less protection. If it works it works, and for it works if it beads water. I don't care if about pretty finishes on garage queens that need refrreshing after one or two months.
