It did much better then my '79 Merc with Firestone wideovals on it did, when I got stuck in parking lot in 1" of snow many years ago, lol... :D
 
We used to have very icy streets in my hometown. They were packed snow that had been polished really really well. Headlights actually reflected off the driving surface. We kids used to run and slide on the street with our moccasins.

Someone claimed that he could accelerate the fastest on that surface with bald tires (ie slick equivalents). Theory was his tires had the maximum possible surface area because the treads were worn right off. Doesn't look like he was right though does it.
