Fine by me... I'm a big guy and Summer & I don't go well with each other unless I have a big-gulp and am in an air-conditioned space/vehicle!

We've had highs 20 degrees lower than normal for a week now.

Many frost & freeze warnings also.

IMO it's nonsense and it's to promote the "Going Green" new wave in consumerism and to inflate oil prices for fear that we have consumed it all already and spewed it into the atmosphere... But who knows for sure!

There was a program on TV a while ago that showed a meterologist that compared weather from 100 years ago to today and noticed that it was ever so slightly warmer, but not the crazy amount of temperature difference the "experts" are claiming. I don't know who is right, and at this point I could use a little global warming in the winter up here!

I'm digging the weather this year. It's been in the low 70s about everyday, with nighttime lows in the mid 40s. Great sleeping weather, with a nice cool refreshing breeze.

And I'm roasting like a pig at a luau, and huddling by my A/C like a 1880s mountain trapper living in a one-room cabin with his woodstove.

It's a foul climate, not meant for human beings.

It's fine with me as long as it does not mean an extremely cold winter. As a matter of fact, I would like to see the weather we are having right now all year long. Puts the utility company almost out of business. Just raise the windows and let mother nature do her thing.

or roll down car windows a bit and save on gas by not using the A/C . Cooler weather has more advantages when it comes to the wallet . Easier to get things done outside as well .

Agree 100%. Just try mentioning that belief in a group of people though....they will accuse you of being a far-right wacko and a Rush Limbaugh supporter.
Peer pressure works so well for the socialist 'green' crowd. They've got almost all the media on their side as well as schools and companies (we get the 'green' speech in meetings on a regular basis).

My heater goes on every night, and we are usually 10 deg F cooler in the day than normal. [Chicago area]
It's well into June - this is nonsense.

I'd say, "Thanks for the compliment."

The weather here in Mississauga has been mostly pretty nice since the beginning of May, it's been warm enough during the day to be comfortable in shorts and a t-shirt (90% of the days the highs have been 65 to 70, with a few in the 75 to 80 range) but not hot enough to need AC. And even when it has dropped down below 50 overnight, our house retains the warmth pretty good once you shut all the windows, so it still stays above 70 degrees inside overnight, so we haven't had the furnace on in months.

I would absolutely love to live in a climate that stays in the 70-80 degree range all year round. A few months ago on here there was a topic asking people what the high and low temps are like in their area and someone from Hawaii was on here saying that the record high for their city was 90F and the record low was 70F! Talk about paradise! I'm at my happiest when the warm weather hits this area, but I'd sure love to move somewhere else for the months of November through March!

Patman,

I live up on Hamilton Mountain (or hill depending on how you look at it), and very seldom do we need the A/C. In the night in the dead of summer it's always cool up here and we can open all the windows and get a cross breeze and then in the day by the time the house hits 23oC (73.4oF) the sun is setting and it starts to cool off. It's not uncommon to leave our windows open for a week or two at a time!

(They are protected by the overhangs of the house from rain.) We might use the A/C 3-5 times on the really hot humid days but at night we can turn it off because the cool breeze shows up again... Now go down the mountain and it's like a different weather pattern. It's super humid because it's so close to the lake and I know their A/C's run all the time. (friends)

My company started a "GREEN PROGRAM" and they asked us to bring all of our old electronic in and they would send it to a recycler. The funny thing is that 50% of us (20 people) live far and work from home. I would have to drive 180KM (round trip) in my SUV to my head office to drop the stuff off, when I can drive 12KM to my nearest recycler and drop it there! I have to take some stuff in for the "Corporate Politics" aspect and to look like I'm doing my part, but I just shook my head when I got the e-mail and then the follow up asking if I was bringing anything!

I wouldn't mind if this was the temperature all year either! We are averaging 16oC - 20oC where I live! (60.8 - 68 oF)

This is the strangest I have ever seen in my area, and I have lived here a long time. Here it is June 10th and it is still strangely cool. Now, I don't mind missing the heat. But normally in this area by this time the temperatures would be 90+ and everybody would have the swamp coolers cranked up to high.

I think we are starting to be able to see the connection with the Sun.

the computer generated weather pattern states hurricanes to be likely in GULF near TEXAS and LOUSIANA . Also , along the eastern coast . Lets hope it's a glitch .
