Hello friends, long time. Those miles are adding up on my beloved Wrangler and I need your advice once more. I have a K&N air filter and the intake kit on it, and am def. running it hard off the line in my Central Jersey home.

Jeep 4.0 X
87,000
I drive rough.
I use any gas available since the summer 'fuel crisis', but usually fill up on Exxon/Mobil.
The normal oci is 4,000-5,000 miles.
unfortunately I went to my favorite FireStone with little time and had the Kendal GT-1 synthetic, and a quart of Mystery Marvel put in it, but have used Mobil 1 and 1 qt. of Mystery Marvel the past 3 times.

Question:
1) What do you recommend I use this weekend, during the drain?
2) Engine flush, or no?

ps: I have 2 qts. of Castrol 5-50 I picked up at the local PX and a Fram Extra Guard filter I'd like to utilize.

Thanks.

I would say no to the flush. All that Marvel should have cleaned things up. I would cut the Marvel out, and stick to a quality synthetic oil like Mobil 1, Pennzoil Platnium, Synpower, Royal purple, Ect. . .
And keep the OCI low 4000-5000 miles.

I would not use 5w50. I used to stick to 5w30 or 10w30 in my 4.0.

If you already have Castrol 5W50 and want to use it, you should get Castrol 5W20 and mix with 5W50 to thin it down to W30 for your Jeep.
