2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7 4x4 automatic 156k miles, at speeds above 50 mph when lifting off accelerator, coasting no brakes have a vibration which feels like going over rumble strips, not quite that bad but similar. Had u-joints checked and no discernible play. Differential fluids all good, trans fluid full. Any suggestions?

You feeling it through the steering wheel, or the seat?

2004 was still solid axle up front - so when things get worn out up there you get some pretty wonky vibrations.

Hard to describe, no noticeable vibration in wheel or seat. Hard to pinpoint where it's coming from as soon as I get back on the gas pedal it goes away.

Driveshaft u-joints, or front axle shaft u-joints. They can be tight and not show any play, and then when you pull them off they feel really crunchy.
