Jag Independant Rear Suspension Strength

So I am playing with the idea of putting an early Jag IRS in my hot rod as its the right width from the get go. My only question is how much power will these hold? Would it hold the power of a Ford 406 FE motor? Or would I be better sticking with a 9 inch Ford?

If your not running drag tires it will be ok, the tires will smoke before you hurt the diff.

No its a going to be full fendered so 8 inch tires is about all that will fit.
