I recall hearing a story from Larry Felser, longtime Buffalo News sports reporter that covered the Bills during their AFL years. He said he heard that during a game they were losing in the early 60s, Kemp had thrown a key interception right before the half. The fiery coach Lou Saban basically asked him why the [censored] he would throw right to the opposing defensive back with no Bills receiver around, later in the locker room at halftime.
Kemp replied "he was the only guy open," and Saban immediately tried stuffing him into a locker and had to be held back by several players from throttling him...
