This isn't a country-vs.-country war. Carpet bombing was primarily a technique developed by the Brits during WWII to try to keep their bomber pilots alive. If you were to try to carpet bomb ISIS, either most of your bombs would fall in uninhabited desert, or worse, fall in civilian areas. Nukes are kind of the ultimate carpet bomb. As far as how to win against ISIS, I don't know specific techniques, but our military does. Also, I'm hopeful that middle eastern people and governments will rise up against them because of their indiscriminate violence.
You mean "area bombing," not "carpet" bombing. Carpet bombing has never actually been a military term AFAIK. Area bombing wasn't devised so much to keep RAF bomber crews alive as it was an acknowledgement that accurate bombing was nearly impossible with WWII era technology, so the entire "area" around factories had to be destroyed, including civilians areas...

Yes one would be naive to believe that US foreign policy hasn't contributed to and continues to contribute to mistrust of the US. When European powers were pre-eminent, their foreign policy was unashamedly about economic gain. Despite pronouncing ideas such as liberty and equality, entire countries were taken over and their citizens and resources organized for the benefit of the home countries. As US power rose, so has it's intervention in foreign lands for economic reasons. It's not difficult to find out more about the multiple instances of this. One interesting example is overthrowing the democratically elected leader of Iran in 1953 and installing the Shah of Iran. Then when the Shah of Iran was overthrown, the US ended up supporting Saddam Hussein as a check against Iran. The Iran-Iraq war cost hundreds of thousands of military and civilian lives. Then when we decided Saddam wasn't to our liking, we overthrew him and now have IS to deal with.

The general citizenry of the USA have never wanted foreign policy which included creating an empire or "foreign adventurism" . Time and time again the only thing that pushed the public to "accept" the elite's desires off of US soil is the blatant (at least to those of us who are aware) propagandizing by the mass corporate media outlets, including Hollywood, which assists the MIC by fanning the flames. I will say that they are brilliant psychological ops, and have been for over a century. Just more proof to me that We The People, of The United States of America have essentially what could be termed a "hostile occupational government". Many would call it a "tyrannical government".

This seems to be the prevailing view of the left...terrorism is the fault of the U.S. because we won't leave them alone...terrorism was going on in the Middle East long before the U.S. was even a country...it's hardly our fault...

Carpet bombing AKA saturation bombing is in the Dictionary of Modern Strategy and Tactics. http://books.google.com/books?id=9mMMt49...p;q&f=false

Actually it isn't a left or right issue, even others have addressed the issue. The US and Europe didn't have a problem with Arab or Muslim terrorism until we aided Ashakanzi Khazars invading Palestine in the 1930s. The murders of tens of thousands of native Palestinians by Jewish terrorist groups like Irgun, and Haganah started in the 1930s and lasted well into the 1940s. What most folks in the US do not know is that these Ashkanazi Khazar jews were NEVER native peoples of the Holy Land or Palestine, having originally migrated to Europe from lands near Khazakstan in the asiatic caucuses. Thus they are NOT descended from the Tribe of Judah, nor are they semitic.

Simple solution but the wimps in Government don't have the balls to do it. Ban western air travel to and from these countries who support Islamic terrorism. Ban any immigration also from these countries. No refugee status immigration at all. No more student visa's or travel visa's to anyone from these countries. You let everyone know if you travel to one of these banned Muslim countries and you're kidnapped don't look for the U.S. Government to lift one finger for you. If you travel to these countries when terrorists are operating for any reason that didn't involve special permission from the U.S. Government, you not welcomed back in the U.S. and kiss your citizenship and American passport good bye. That point alone would make a lot of these home grown terrorists think twice about heading off to war against the infidels in the Middle East. I just read today that 1.4 billion dollars has been transferred from France to the U.S. by wealthy Jews who have immigrated to NYC or are planning on moving in the future out of France because of all the antisemitism from the Muslim population. The French government is terrified of riling up the Muslim population. The Muslim population is now between eight and ten percent of the 65 million so the Government lets it happen by looking the other way and giving lip service.

I never could understand why France and the UK let the Muslims into their country in the first place.

Economic greed. First of all they both invaded and took over countries with significant Muslim populations namely Algeria and India. Then due to these imperial ties / common language when they wanted cheap immigrant labor, these are the countries that were most likely to come (in England's case, Pakistan rather than India).

What about oil? Ready for $10 gallon? On a side note, people seem to forget the chaos in Iraq now is primarily US-made in 2003, more than 1.5 million Iraqis have been killed and the whole country is way worse than it ever been even under Saddam's rule.

Funny how the collective mind of the typical Americans seem to totally forget this. The gullable sheep in my country are all too ready to listen to the drum beat of war by the controlled mass media looking to invade yet another sovereign nation "Syria". Fact is that ISIS, AL CIA DUH, and HAMAS were either created by and or encouraged, financed, and provided weaponry by the US gov't. We now know that the leader of ISIS is Simon Elliot (Elliot Shimon) aka Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi was born of two Jewish parents and is a Mossad agent.

Interesting! http://americanfreepress.net/?p=19176 That is mildly well sourced; a leak from Edward Snowden. :edit: OK, I take that back, That is the most B S speculatively; almost flat out made up pile of garbage I've ever read and it's the basis for other "news" (aka conspiracy bull [censored]) website's claiming the same thing. Provide a legitimate credible documented/sourced piece of evidence to that claim or I'm going to pass it off yet again as made up bull [censored] by the conspiratainment industry.

Yep 1400 years of civil war in Islam and chaos in Mesopotamia since the dawn of civilization is the fault of the U.S. The United States elite and Mossad have discovered time travel and use time travel to control the masses and influence current events thru the manipulation of bronze age history. Also in case no one has been paying attention there is very serious doubt if any action will be taken in Syria.

http://moroccantimes.com/2014/07/nsa-doc...israeli-mossad/ http://www.globalresearch.ca/isis-leader...-reveal/5391593 http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=259_1409830022 "There are no documents because Global Research is a Russian funded propaganda site. Journalist Kyle Matthews wrote about how they are important part of Russian propaganda. Global Research was founded by a Russian professor Michael Chudovsky in Ottawa, Canada who received funds from Russia to create a propaganda organization that is now based in Montreal, Canada. Global Research is known for publishing outrageous lies on Ukraine and other countries, that have been debunked by Stopfake.org. Why is outright lying common in Putin propaganda? Putin told a group of Rabbis that Goebbels is a talented man bhttp://globalvoicesonline.org/2014/07/14/putin-tells-rabbis-that-goebbels-was-talented/ Outright lying works when combined to manipulate thought, hence is common to Nazi and Communist/Putin NeoCommunist propaganda. See for yourself on the website http://www.stopfake.org – how many of the Syrian photos that were mislabelled “ethnic Russian victims of Ukrainian aggression” you now see all over the internet as “Gazan victims of Israeli aggression.” http://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-trending-28198622 The idea behind lies combined with emotion in Russian propaganda is that when you use an emotion-creating fake, like a picture of dead kids, the information and facts are forgotten, but your feeling of not liking someone changes and stays no matter what. So when you are told, “its a fake”, you will remember that, but then now you hate whoever the propaganda manipulated you to hate and forgot why, “but they are bad anyway”. etc. Beware of Russian propaganda!" I've read that a few more places, that Russia is behind a lot of the conspiracy bull [censored] being peddled as mainstream in the United States. All those sites are the ones that have pushed economic conspiracies designed to lull ignorants into believing in policies that would be detrimental to the United States. amtiqueshell, you really have a hard on for Russian propaganda!
