This isn't a country-vs.-country war. Carpet bombing was primarily a technique developed by the Brits during WWII to try to keep their bomber pilots alive. If you were to try to carpet bomb ISIS, either most of your bombs would fall in uninhabited desert, or worse, fall in civilian areas. Nukes are kind of the ultimate carpet bomb. As far as how to win against ISIS, I don't know specific techniques, but our military does. Also, I'm hopeful that middle eastern people and governments will rise up against them because of their indiscriminate violence.

You mean "area bombing," not "carpet" bombing. Carpet bombing has never actually been a military term AFAIK. Area bombing wasn't devised so much to keep RAF bomber crews alive as it was an acknowledgement that accurate bombing was nearly impossible with WWII era technology, so the entire "area" around factories had to be destroyed, including civilians areas...

Yes one would be naive to believe that US foreign policy hasn't contributed to and continues to contribute to mistrust of the US. When European powers were pre-eminent, their foreign policy was unashamedly about economic gain. Despite pronouncing ideas such as liberty and equality, entire countries were taken over and their citizens and resources organized for the benefit of the home countries. As US power rose, so has it's intervention in foreign lands for economic reasons. It's not difficult to find out more about the multiple instances of this. One interesting example is overthrowing the democratically elected leader of Iran in 1953 and installing the Shah of Iran. Then when the Shah of Iran was overthrown, the US ended up supporting Saddam Hussein as a check against Iran. The Iran-Iraq war cost hundreds of thousands of military and civilian lives. Then when we decided Saddam wasn't to our liking, we overthrew him and now have IS to deal with.

The general citizenry of the USA have never wanted foreign policy which included creating an empire or "foreign adventurism" . Time and time again the only thing that pushed the public to "accept" the elite's desires off of US soil is the blatant (at least to those of us who are aware) propagandizing by the mass corporate media outlets, including Hollywood, which assists the MIC by fanning the flames. I will say that they are brilliant psychological ops, and have been for over a century. Just more proof to me that We The People, of The United States of America have essentially what could be termed a "hostile occupational government". Many would call it a "tyrannical government".

Actually it isn't a left or right issue, even others have addressed the issue. The US and Europe didn't have a problem with Arab or Muslim terrorism until we aided Ashakanzi Khazars invading Palestine in the 1930s. The murders of tens of thousands of native Palestinians by Jewish terrorist groups like Irgun, and Haganah started in the 1930s and lasted well into the 1940s. What most folks in the US do not know is that these Ashkanazi Khazar jews were NEVER native peoples of the Holy Land or Palestine, having originally migrated to Europe from lands near Khazakstan in the asiatic caucuses. Thus they are NOT descended from the Tribe of Judah, nor are they semitic.

Simple solution but the wimps in Government don't have the balls to do it. Ban western air travel to and from these countries who support Islamic terrorism. Ban any immigration also from these countries. No refugee status immigration at all. No more student visa's or travel visa's to anyone from these countries. You let everyone know if you travel to one of these banned Muslim countries and you're kidnapped don't look for the U.S. Government to lift one finger for you. If you travel to these countries when terrorists are operating for any reason that didn't involve special permission from the U.S. Government, you not welcomed back in the U.S. and kiss your citizenship and American passport good bye. That point alone would make a lot of these home grown terrorists think twice about heading off to war against the infidels in the Middle East. I just read today that 1.4 billion dollars has been transferred from France to the U.S. by wealthy Jews who have immigrated to NYC or are planning on moving in the future out of France because of all the antisemitism from the Muslim population. The French government is terrified of riling up the Muslim population. The Muslim population is now between eight and ten percent of the 65 million so the Government lets it happen by looking the other way and giving lip service.
