Is Valvoline MaxLife Power Steering Fluid good?

I'm getting ready to change my power steering fluid and wanted some input on Valvoline MaxLife Power Steering Fluid. I went to my loacl advanced auto parts and the only reputable power steering fluid brand was Valvoline. It's only $4 per quart. This will be the first time the car sees new power steering fluid fluid. It has 28k miles. It's a 2009 Subaru Impreza 2.5i

i have used Valvoline power steering fluid in just about every power steering system i have worked on for the last 15 years and have never had oil related problems

Sorry, but on paper, it's not that fancy of a fluid.

Use ATF+4

This is where I get confused. My owners manual says nothing about ATF. It says to use PSF. I went to the amsoil.com site and used the vehicle selection on the home page. It listed all fluids that were supposedly compatible. It listed ATF for power steering. I haven't been able to come up with a solid conclusion on weather or not ATF is "ok" to use

ATF is the most common PSF in the industry.

Plain PSF is extremely lame.

made the PS pump in my jeep whine constantly. switching back to PSF made the whine stop.
