20 years ago Ford was heavy into using 409 ss for exhaust systems, while the japanese were using 304 ss. I know, because I was doing a lot of work for Ford helping to develop exhaust materials at the time.

What kind of car is it? Different manufacturers use different grades of stainless but they are pretty much all stainless now. 400 grades do not add nickel and lower the chromium content to lower the price. Under normal conditions they last well beyond 10 years using 400 grades. Higher end cars like Mercedez, BMW, AUDI, Porsche, Lexus use 300 grades. 400 grades are slightly magnetic. 300 grades are not. If it is still an OE exhaust system you could call any dealer and ask them what the replacement service part is made of. Low end aftermarket tends to be galvanized and is much cheaper and at that point usually good enough as vehicle is well aged by then.

Knowing Ford it will be as cheap as possible to manufacture but charged dearly as an upgrade option.
