hey guys i was told by someone who supposedly knows his stuff with oils and etc and he said once you start with high mileage oils with seal conditioners you never switch to non high mileage oils..to me it seems like ____

I think its ____ too, I switch between GTX and GTX HM on my Toyota Avalon all the time. GTX HM for the summer and GTX for the winter without any probloms.

And we hear from another self appointed expert spreading rumors without any facts or data. We relly should be informed as to who these someones are or are we just asking what might be viewed as a stupid question?

Haven't noticed issues myself.

Was using Maxlife through last summer - early spring this year, then switched to Rotella synthetic HDEO, haven't noticed any issues.

Will probably return to Maxlife 5w-30 synthetic for winter use, as our temps dive to sometimes as low as -15F.

Consider this another Myth Busted here at BITOG.

Completely untrue. Switch back & forth between HM or conventional oil every other oil change if you wish, the car will run no worse or no better.
