Is Schaeffer 10w30 better in cold than their 5w30??

The specs are 3500 cP @-25C for the 5W and 3500cP @-20C for the 10W.
4500cP @ -25C is about right for the 10W.

The value for the 5W is screwed up. I think we have seen questionable numbers from Shaeffers before

Hey Patman,

The 5073 Cp for the 5w-30 is a typo the temp should read -30°C NOT -20°C

Earlier SL data sheets have the temp correct....

That sounds reasonable.

It's too bad the # 156 Moly Pure Synthetic 5/30 only comes in 30 and 55 gallon drums,,it has a HTHS of 3.8. I forget the VI at 100C but it's up there.

It would probably run with near any 5/30 PCMO made just guessing

Al is running this oil, and I'm positive he didn't buy it in a huge drum like that.

If I remember correctly, Crazee Al bought hisself a 5 gallon pail of that stuff.

Still, I wish more Schaeffer Oil products (like their Soy Neutra #131C) came in gallon jugs ... just about the perfect size for whackos like us.
