I seem to remember reading somewhere that Purebase was at least hydrocracked, if not hydroisomerized. Does anyone know which, if either? Or is Pennzoil just basic dead dino?
Pennzoil's PureBase base oil is produced using the Chevron licensed "IsoSyn" process. This process utilizes a combination of hydrocracking and isodewaxing. While this same process can be used to make Group III, Pennzoil's is Group II and Group II+.
