Is Pennzoil Platinum a true synthetic oil?

It's very highly refined crude oil. One court of law says that it is.

Only true synthetics I know of that are somewhat easily attainable (via store or online) are Amsoil (pao),Royal Purple (pao),Redline (ester),Motul (ester).

According to the MSDS PP 10w30 is "Blend of polyolefins and additives.
The highly refined mineral oil contains w) DMSO-extract, according to IP346."


That says to me Grp IV with dino as a solvent for the additives. Then again I'm probably wrong.
