Is Pennzoil ever going to update

I don't know but I'm liking Pennz.' additive pack over XOM. I am pretty disappointed in the VOA's that have been put up. I know that it is different than a PDS, but for now I think I will be going Pennzoil. I do think it is a shame their 0w20 is like a myth. I've heard people speak of it but I don't even know if it exists on the common market.

From what I understand, their 5W-20 is as close as it gets to a 0W-20 without being labeled a 0W-20 (in the PP product anyway). I have M1 0W-20 in my MDX right now, but think I will switch to Ultra 5W-20 next time. No reason really, just want to try something new.

VOA of ISLAC GF-5 oils are pretty much worthless today due to a move away from organometallic adds. Think that in the API-SA days (and before) an oil blender could make an oil protect an engine WITHOUT additives. That lost art may be coming back. VOA is only good for seeing how much Si antifoamant is in the virgin sample and looking a flash, NOACK and Viscosity. These aint simple SE rated oils with 1800PPM Ca detergent, 1200 PPM Zn and 300ppm Molydithiocarbamate. Uoa VOA pretty much only kidding yourself and playing pretend tribologist by misreading and misinterpreting the data.

I've similarly had to rely on the VOAs that were posted when members sent in their GF-5 samples after they hit the market and posted the results. Only for those members, and I'd have had no data to go on.
