Is P0430 specific to converter issues?

The man is onto this cheat. In Texas the licensed inspectors at the licensed inspection stations are instructed to look for anti-foulers and flunk any vehicle it is found on. Some inspectors look, and some inspectors don't look. Once they flunk you the vehicle is tagged in the state's computer and you can't get an inspection passed anywhere else until you have the problem properly corrected.
No Doubt!

Yeah, until they set you up in a sting operation and bust you. I've seen it happen. Don't know if they still do that though.

I know a guy who installed one of these on a very high mileage vehicle. His cat plugged so he rodded it out and that turned off his light. Prior to that, he had tried spacers with no luck.
10-4 but l don't think it would be legal in states where they are required to visually check for the work-around.

That code means that the cat is not cleaning the exhaust as it should. 90% of the time it's a failed cat. But it can be caused by other problems like a vacuum leak or bad injector.
Sure, too much HC and or CO coming out of the motor, into the cat for it to handle.
