I emailed a Elf distributor here in the US regarding the price of the oil. The company emailed me back with a price of $3.00 more a liter then the Mobil 1 oil that I use. The Elf that I'm looking at is the Evolution SXR 5W-30. This is the specs.

API: SL/CF
ACEA: A5/B5
Man Req: Ford/GM/LL-A025

My issue with M1 0w-40 is that it shears in and out of grade. Not a bad thing beecause it starts as a light 40wt, goes to a heavy 30wt, and then back up to a 40wt.

The elf oil will likely be more shear stable because of the smaller spread.

Im not necessarily sold on having higher levels of Zn/P that HDEO and older formulation PCMOs had, but if you like the Zn and P adds, and your car uses no oil, then the elf oil may have higher contents of those adds.

The tbn of the elf oil is 10-13 I believe.

If they were to bring it into NA in quantity so they could charge a similar price to M1 EP or GC, it might be worth it (although I prefer not to use anything but an A3 rated oil [which ELF also has]), but at a $3.00 premium I wouldn't go for it. I don't believe it is any better than GC. Now ELF Excellium might be a different story, but still, at a $3.00 premium?...I don't think so.

The best UOA's being put up here are by 5w-20 oils. Some of them Dino no less.

Only Elf oil I'm using is the GC.

I'm going to say "no."
It's nice to have it available as an option, but I just don't see it making sense in the absence of something special it might have... which I don't see.
At a lower price though, I'm sure it'd make sense.
As an aside, how many cars sold in the US right now list ACEA A5 as a requirement?
