I was at the local BMW dealership today and had a look at the 10-60. The bottle said TWS 10-60...but on Castrol's website it's called RS. Are these the same?? At $13.60/L (Can.$) I may try some....

Sorry, just answered my own question: From SI 00 02 00 revised July, 2001: (Maintenance Requirements for 2001 models except the X5) “All models (including all with the new S54 6-cylinder Motorsport engine) feature the extended oil change service interval. However, engine oil should be changed at least once a year. This revision is retroactive to earlier model years. The annual oil change is included in the BMW Maintenance Plan.” About the BMW oil: “Castrol TWS Motorsport 10W-60 Synthetic, and Castrol Formula RS 10W-60* Synthetic Oils: These are the only approved oils for the S54B32 engine in the M3 (coupe and convertible) and the M roadster/M coupe. The TWS Motorsport 10W-60 Synthetic has the same formulation as the Formula RS 10W-60. Since only the name was changed, it can be ordered under BMW part number 07 51 0 009 420.” *Castrol Formula RS 10W-60 Synthetic is the same oil which is approved for 2000 M5 through 2/2000 production.
