Is BMW branded oil? GC?

Mechanic I know that works at a BMW dealership. The other day he drops by and brings me 8 qts of the BMW brand 5w-30. Is this GC? Guess I'll use it in the 740 for the next change. YIKES!! I wouldn't worry too much about that. Something serously wrong was going on with that motor.

Correct....GC is ONLY 0w30 & must say "made in Germany" on the back of the bottle.

Its not GC but interestingly it gets a ACEA/A3 rating. Highly unusual/suspect for a 5W-30 but results can speak for themselves. Here is a UOA on mine when I bought it used with over 12K on the fill. http://theoildrop.server101.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=3;t=001962#000000
