iPod Touch

I was thinking about buy a new iPod Touch, specifically the 16GB version of the recently released 2nd generation model. Amazon just got them back in-stock and they're selling for $289.94, no tax or shipping charges.

Do any of you own an iPod Touch? How do you like it? Is it worth the money? The WI-FI is the main reason why I want one.

I prefer the smallness of the nano.

I prefer the 800x600 screen resolution of my Nokia N800 wifi internet tablet for surfing and a little gaming on the fly. It also plays music, videos, has internet radio, chat, Skype, fm radio, GPS, mapping, weather, and more gadgets than one could possibly need. Its Mozilla based browser is very good.

I paid $200 for an essentially brand new, absolutely pristine, in the original box, with two 8GB memory cards N800. Some clown bought the device because he just had to have the latest gadget, then found out he didn't need it. Or maybe he needed the money. The N800 is getting hard to find, though.

Just get it dude its a great product i have an iphone and it is so so so useful you won't believe how useful the ipod touch and iphone are just day to day. you can keep it stock or jailbreak it and get a lot of modifications that make it so much fun to own

The Apple Store online has new "refurbs" with the same as new 1 year warranty. The 16GB goes for $219.00 and the 32GB for $319.00 free shipping. The Apple Care 2yr. extended warranty is a bit higher at $59.00.

I bought my new 24" iMac the refurb route delivered in three days- nice machine! Just type in "refurb" in The Apple Store search box.

Thanks, but the refurb one was the 1st generation, not the 2nd.

I went ahead and ordered one. I got the 16GB 2G Touch from Amazon for $289.94.

I also bought the new SwitchEasy RebelTouch case in Black. It's supposed to be the best case you can get for the Touch:

Also bought the three year service plan from SquareTrade. I couldn't get the 50% off coupon to work, so I had to settle for the 30% off one. The price for the warranty ended up being $38.49, which isn't bad at all.

I also picked up a cheap $2.99 headset/microphone from eBay to use VOIP on the device.
