A couple of web sites for free DNS settings/info.

Windows users can use the Norton automatic DNS tool or manually setup them using 198.153.192.1 and the alternate 198.153.194.1 plus other operating system users i.e. Linux, MAC, etc., can manually set them up.

When setting them up in Linux for example is right click on the network icon then click on edit connections.

Under IPv4 Settings change the method to Automatic (DHCP) address only.

On the DNS Servers line then add the Primary and Secondary DNS servers seperated by a space then apply.

The Google DNS numbers are 8.8.8.8 (space) 8.8.4.4.

There are other free and paid DNS servers too but have found that the ones above meet my needs.

Check the features and see which one meets your needs.

I use OpenDNS. They were the first ones to offer this service and do a good job of blocking the malware sites as well. You can also look at logs of all the lookups from your ip address and block sites.

OpenDNS is excellent. I use it at the enterprise level for entire sites. Fantastic product.

Thanks for the info about Clear Cloud.

May give them a try after their software comes out of Beta.
