Yes, that is an interesting article. Even has a direct reference to Marathon/Ashland using Group I oil in certain 10w30s.

Yes, TallPaul, in reference to Maxlife, this indicates that SM Maxlife may very well still be GRP I plus PAO plus a new, premium additive package.

Wouldn't suprise me, particularly if Maxlife were only SM and not also GF-4 (can't remember). Nonetheless, I and others have had excellent UOAs with Maxlife.
