Infamous aircraft accidents

Agreed.

And yet, people think all airlines, and all pilots, are the same.

That you’re getting Chuck Yeager every time you board, when there are lots of inept pilots flying for some (not all, just some) airlines.
My A&P friends said the U.S airlines have the most competent crews. With the 737 Max the first words out of their mouths were[ correct or not] Foreign flight crews.

TWA Flight 260 CFIT (Sandia Mountains) in February of 1955. Instead of flying north up the Rio Grande to get around Sandias, Matin 404 turned to NE and crashed several hundred feet below Kiwanis Hut. Sandia Peak Tramway now passes almost directly over crash sight which was cleaned up so as to not offend tram riders.

Does it fit in here?
This story does contain an inaccuracy. The story states, "receiving the Silver Star and the Purple Heart, the latter being the highest US military decoration." The Silver Star is higher in order of precedence.

TransAsia 235 was pretty infamous. Turns out that after their right engine flamed out, the crew (for whatever reason) shut down the left engine.

The location of the airport is rather insane too.
