Good ole Maddon making the most idiotic moves in a Game 7. Pathetic. I hope he drinks a gallon of his wine.
That was a great series. Both teams played their hearts out. Crazy to think my grandpa wasn't even born the last time the Cubs won the Series.
I'm not a big baseball fan, but dang that was an exciting game.

That was an exciting game! I sure am tired this morning though, but I just couldn't go to bed knowing it was such a historic game, no matter who won. It really could have gone either way, both teams definitely gave it their all! Maddon definitely made some questionable moves in the game though, pulling Hendricks for Lester didn't make any sense at all, the Baez bunt attempt and his use of Chapman in game 6 definitely came back to haunt him yesterday and almost cost them the game. But in the end, the Cubs defied all odds and came back from their 3-1 deficit to win it all! The curse is over!

The Red Sox were actually down 3-0... They had to win 4 straight. Which of course they did in compelling fashion.
This series was ok. Not all that great really. This game 7 was a great game though. I believe the Braves and Twins series in 1991 was much better. Several games in that series came down to 1 run victories or losses. Plus Game 7 went 10 innings and Twins pitcher Morris PITCHED ALL 10 innings for a 1-0 win.

My Grandfather who is the reason why I am a Cubs fan lived his entire life without watching the Cubs win the World Series. Before last night the Cubs last won the Series 16 years before he was born. He passed in 2001. My 11 year old actually had tears in his eyes after that last ground out.

Hate to disagree but this series was ok. The 1991 World Series had 5 games out if the 7 decided by 1 run... with Atlanta winning two of their three home games by just 1 run, one of which was a hit by Mark Lemke hitting a game winning single in extra innings. Game 6 had Kirby Puckett hitting a game winning 2 run home run to force a game 7. And game 7 went to extra innings with Jack Morris pitching all 10 innings. The Braves had the bases loaded in the top of the 10th and couldn't push a run across. This series didn't have any real good moments like that at all until last night's game 7. Which was a really, really good game. This series reminds me of the Lakers-Celtics from 09-10 where the first 6 games were blowouts. Game 7 was terrible to watch until the last 3 minutes. Goes to show just because a series goes 7 games doesn't make it a good series. Trying to think of the best 7 game NBA Finals series... Boston - LA Lakers 1984?? Houston - NY Knicks 1994?? Hmmmm... maybe another one I'm not thinking of ??

Neither of these teams are my favorites, but I gotta hand it to the Cubs...there aren't many teams that would've been able to get out of the two tight spots they were in during this series...the first obviously was being down 3-1, the second was in the 8th inning of game 7 when Davis hit the 2 run homer...most teams wouldn't have been able to take a punch like that, but the Cubs weren't even phased...it's like they were on a mission and nothing was going to stop them...they were impressive!
