Post any last second actions that changed the out come of a game or piece of history.

Last night Reilly Smith of the Vegas Golden Knights scored with 0.4 seconds left on the clock to win 4-3 against the Edmonton Oilers. The wrist shot hit the stick of an Oiler defending the net and bounced in and out of the net so quickly people weren’t sure it went into the net at all. A top side video review of the goal confirmed it.

On June 2nd, 2010 a MLB game between the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Indians at Commercia Park in Detroit was almost a no hitter by the Tigers pitcher then the 1st base umpire messed up a call and ruled a out as a safe call meaning it was a hit, which messed up the no hitter game. The game is known in history as the 28 out game or “the imperfect game”. Following the game as well as the next day the umpire who messed up the call was crying on the field and very apologetic when lineup cards were exchanged and the pitcher shook hands with him and showed good sportsmanship. But had that game been a no hitter it would have been in the history books as a no hitter which is very rare in baseball. But the pitcher Armando Galarraga and umpire Jim Joyce were praised for showing good sportsmanship.

As of today the Tigers have 9 no hitters to their name. Had this call been made correctly it would be 10 no hitters. Also the weeks before that there were two perfect games pitched making a season high record as normally there are 0 or 1 thrown per season. The other two being by the Athletics and the Phillies. This would have made a histrionic number of 3 that year which to this day would still stand as the highest per season. There ended up being 3 perfect games pitched in 2012 two seasons later. So it would have made a tie.

1992 NCAA East Regionals final number 1 Duke VS number 2 Kentucky for a chance to advance to the final four. With 2.1 seconds to go in overtime with Kentucky up by 1, 103 to 102. Grant Hill throws the ball 3/4 the length of the court to Christian Laettner who catches the ball between the top of the arch and the foul line, fakes right, dribbles once and swishes the shot at the buzzer to advance to the final 4 by beating the Wildcats by 1, 104 to 103 and to then beat Indiana and then Michigan and their under achieving, over rated “ Fab Four “ by 20 points in the national title game. Often described as college basketball’s greatest game ever played! Sorry KU fans, I know you still hate Laettner all these 33 years later, I’ve seen your tee shirts proclaiming so! :p🏀

It was a hard fought battle but when the third period was over, the Oilers and Golden Knights were both scoreless. Seven minutes into overtime the Oilers scored and knocked the Las Vega Golden Kights out of the playoffs. That’s as sudden as sudden death can be.
