If we can trust Lubrizol then a GF-4 oil is vastly superior to a GF-3. The chart on wear protection, fuel economy, etc would on the surface seem to indicate that the GF-4 and GF-3 oils are similar yet the cold cranking and oxidative qualities should make the GF-4 superior. Looks like these oils are the way to go.
