The panels are supposed to reflect the sun during the day and are insulated to keep the heat in at night. Nice that it comes with solar panels for electricity.

I wouldn't put a piece of junk IKEA furniture in my house. Never mind having an IKEA house.

Nicer than what millions if not billions of folks live in worldwide. Be thankful for what you have.

"The prefab housing units also have solar panels that provide (4 hours of) electricity, something the tents do not have, despite the 6 PM dusk of the areas where they're most commonly used. It also provides energy for utilities during the day.

And see the roof of these prefab houses? They have a "shade net" which may look simple but actually makes a big difference. This reflects the sun's heat during the hot days and reflects the prefab home's heat at night to keep it warm at that time. Tents and tarps don't do these things."

Not for sale at Ikea. For refugees. If the solar panels are included in the $1100, that's a deal.

2 layers is something the US home industry needs to catch up on. You can close off the envelope and trap heat in, or open up the bottom and top and let the heat vent out.

Instead, the US just keeps ratcheting up the R-value, as if that is the ONLY THING.

Right? ... Or tent cities.

This so much. Within the first paragraph, 3.5 million people are living in canvas tents around the world. And they spend 12 years on average living there. Imagine getting out of your dirty canvas tent, and stepping into one of these with a resemblance of home, safety, security, comfort..... A FLOOR!!

Yeah then having install fresh-air make-up units because they are so air tight.

Which then leads to rot, mold and rodents.
