A junkyard should be able to source a quarter that's the right color and everything. It would bolt right on.

While i would not do it, i can appreciate the resourceful measures to fix it at the least cost. I've seen worse with bondo.
 
The whole car was $250. Buying body parts would make a noticeable change in this figure.

Am thinking about using blue RTV to fill the gaps. It would flex, like the panels.

How about some random zip ties for faux drift stitches? That seems to be a big YouTube hit.
