If M1 T&SUV is in fact M1 Delvac, why doesn't T&S carry CI-4+?

I am going right now to get an oil change for the summere w/ the T&SUV. I'm saving my grenn GC for the winter. YOU GUYS BETTER BE RIGHT ABOUT THI STUFF BEING AWESOME FOR MODERN PASSENGER CARS!! LOL. You're SURE this is the Delvac and a great car oil. It's gonna be no turning back in 10 minutes when I'm out the door.

M1 T&SUV is a price pinching consumer product. Ill bet XOM prints out millions of bottle stickers, because if oil profit margins are as thin as some claim, then the cost of the sticker bought in high bulk will be less than bought in lower bulk, and it may end up making a quarter or half cent difference in overall profit!

I don't usually quote myself, but I think its appropriate here. This is from the What possessed you guys initially... thread. This isn't really an answer to what you posted, but does shed some light on the question posed in the title of this thread.

Either way, its a good oil.

I will try my best to make this simple.

The reason Mobil 1 T&SUV oil does not say CI4+ is because it does not have to. This oil is targeted at the T&SUV consumer market. It is not targeted for the 18 wheeler with the 425 H.P. Cat in it. It is priced less than Mobil Delvac 1 5W40.

If Mobil told the over the road trucker that this product was the same as Delvac 1 5W40, they would never sell any more Delvac 1. Then they would loose the huge profits they are making off of it. It's called marketing.

Now this is just my opinion, but I am not convinced that Mobil 1 T&SUV and Delvac 1 5W40 is the exact oil.

One more thing on your Audi, somewhere in your owners manual where it is saying to use all these special oils A3 etc, does it say somewhere API SL? I bet if it does, the the wording is use an oil with one of the following specs.

The Mobil 1 T&SUV will be an EXCELLENT oil for your Audi.
