Kev99sl, seriously your machine will really like using these oils. What kind of car/engine ?

I do recommend a 1500 mile Auto-RX precleaning before using as the RL oils will attempt to clean the 1000's of miles of deposits in the engine.

So you don't deplete the lubricating benefits of the RL oils by chemically coercing them to clean.

I have a Saturn 1.9 SOHC. I've actually run three Auto-RX applications, and have been adding the maintenance dose since the last one, so I think the engine is as ready as it will ever be for the change!

Kev99s! Once you use Redline you fill guilty about putting anything else in the engine. THis is especialy true of their MTL and MT90 for manual transmissions.

Will I ruin my bearings? I've heard that Redline can do nasty things to the lead in bearings. Is this an urban myth, or should I avoid it? I was given about 3 changes worth of 10w-40 and 5w-40, and am eager to try it. FYI, I've run synthetic for the life of the car: Mobil 1 for the first 100,000 miles or so, a couple of Amsoil changes, and Delvac 1 since then. Any advice?

Don't do it, you will destroy the motor. Instead, pack that stuff up and ship it to me so I can dispose of it in the proper manner.

You will not hurt anything by using the Redline, use it, be glad that you got the oil for free and don't worry.
