Yea good luck with that if your department codes in asp and .net along with integrated domain authentication.

I do use Chrome and Firefox at home with ScriptSafe/NoScript.

Back on topic...I put IE10 on my work machine and it seems faster than IE9 to me, I'm happy with it.

IE 10 is working fine for me. I am using Windows 7. I still am not sure if I will go to Windows 8. But if you are using Windows 8 and want security use the tiled version of IE 10. It does not support some of the stuff that can get you in trouble, like Java. And Flash is supported only for certain white-listed websites. You can also turn off Java and Flash in the regular IE 10. And you can use InPrivate web browsing.

And if you are ever really concerned with possible security issues at a website, but need to go there for some reason, in Windows 8 you could use the tiled version of IE 10 and use the Guest Account. Everything gets deleted once you log out.

What I wish Microsoft would do is come up with an upgrade for Windows 7 and include many of the security features in Windows 8. Because I like a lot of the Windows 8 security features but I think Windows 7 is just fine.

To me Windows 8 is better for a tablet than a desktop computer.

Some of those security enhancements may be at the kernel level, and "backporting" the Windows 8 kernel for use in Windows 7 is probably a bigger job than MS is willing to undertake; especially since they'd probably rather not give people another good reason to not upgrade!

Yes, they want everybody to go to Windows 8. I do like the security features they have in Windows 8 but if I was using Windows 8 I might still use the Kaspersky antivirus. I have very mixed feelings about Windows 8. I think they could have had a special desktop version of it.

I am almost tempted to go back to Apple but there are things I don't like about Apple either, like the high cost of their computers and potential problems with hardware that will not work; at least for a while. And personally I just don't like Apple very much any more. They have changed. The more money Apple makes the less I care for them. I can remember when they almost went out of business and they had a better attitude towards their customers.
