The cutouts design seems to be the latest fad. Lexus has that on their new RX.

This looks to be a very versatile vehicle.

I think that is in Germany but their Mexico plant does seem to do well.

Looks like rear drum brakes around the 24:00 mark where they marry the motors and batteries to the body.
