I should hope the FBI is doing this!!

What the Muslim group concerns about, is not monitoring radiation level outside their places, but rather the lack of "trust" that FBI have in them.

I personally think there is no problem monitoring radiation, but would that power be misused to monitor other things (i.e. downloading mp3s and movies on the net, which are now part of homeland security project).

Based on the amount of funny videos/photos leaked on the net captured by the so call "security" camera, I don't want my friends to find a video of me picking my nose on the Net.

Given the resources, I'd love the "authroities" to have a background radiation map of every town, and to do regular checks to see how it's altered.

It's nasty sneaky stuff that you can't see, smell or feel, and can look as innocent as the ball out of a bearing.

Well before this thread gets locked. I'll take the risk of the FBI filmings me picking my nose. I'm not afraid of the "slippery slope":. If it stops my grandchildren from being blown up..I'm for it.

I fear terrorists and bad guys more than I fear the Government.

I don't have much trust in them either. I trust the FBI far more than I trust terrorist organizations.

We all know since 9/11 things will never be the same. I use to work for CBP and I believe we must adjust to the changes. I want my children to live in a "safe world". How do you fight an enemy that is willing to kill themselves!

I agree..I tried to get back and edit my post. That was a quote by the outraged Muslim community.

I don't see how anybody's rights are violated if they are checking radiation levels outside of these places. They are not breaking in, right?

If there is ever a nuclear weapon exploded in New York City or Washington D.C. all of this nonsense is going to be forgotten quickly.

the fbi doesnt distrust the muslim groups. however, it knows that a certain group of people tend to hang around these places. since the fbi are a limited resource, it makes sense to monitor the areas were these people might congregate. of course, these people go to the supermarket too, but there are just a couple more supermarkets than mosques.

Little by little, our enemies are learning our methods by reading the New York Times and watching CNN.

These information leaks are making us all less safe. I would like to see at least one of these idiots brought to justice. Leaking classified information that helps our enemies is outrageous.

I don't know how you could buck that trend in the media without some scary side effects. The cure is to breed more socially sensitive people that aren't pressured by circulation numbers and sensationalism. The other end of the spectrum is just as bad ..state supportive propaganda.

I don't think you will ever see just plain static/flat news. It seems "spin" is here to stay. No longer does the truth have anything to do with the facts. Both are becoming nebulous and malible terms.

..but in all things "fair and balanced" ..even some of our more conservative journalists have been critical of our administration. ;^)

Then again, who would get elected if they said that, no matter what, things will be worse in 4-8 years

There is nothing at all wrong with being critical, in a truthful way, of the administration. But don't take a fact, spin it 180° and say "see what they did wrong" or "look what's going wrong"....

It might help if the administration wouldn't be so arrogant, and admit mistakes, and even own up to doing things that, if not "wrong", are at least questionable, or plain old mistakes. Lately, they have done this a little.
This is the nature of the game, and nothing new. There have been plenty of wars between the media and the government in our history, and not just recent history. It's better than having the government attempt to control the media. We should be intelligent enough not to believe everything either the media or the government tell us.

I don't know Keith..it seems that the N,Y. Times and NBC , etc "is" the enemy. Maybe they really don't mean to be. But its obvius that they throw stuff out there detremental to the President-and if it sticks they go on and on with it.

They are inventing news, not reporting it. But anything that damages the credibility and ability of him to safeguard our country harms the country.

The good thing is that fewer people are reading the N.Y. Times and listening to CNN/NBC.

It's pretty clear that certain portions of our press are 100% attacking the President. They have really kicked it up a notch in the last 4 or 5 months. Sickening really. I can see it in selected headlines, word choice, tonality. It'd be funny if they didn't claim "impartiality". That makes it hilarious. I'm glad so many people now can see through this crap.

The Muslims have every right to be outraged over this radiation surveillance. Everybody knows the Presbyterians are the real nuclear terror threat.

There should be cries for impeachment if this administration isn't monitoring certain groups and individuals who have vowed to kill large numbers of Americans. To pretend that this threat doesn't exist is suicide.
