pics of WP that suffered from cavatation corrosion with Dexcool OAT. It was NASTY. The G-05 "control" WP was perfect looking. Article explained the slow and fast-acting metal protectants, etc. Pics were worth a 1000 words.

Can you post any of the pics?

I switched out the dexcool to GO-5 for these same reasons but to see the difference with my own eyes would be great.

Interesting, this may partially explain why some Audi/VW owners see premature waterpump failures (at 40k or sooner, even before the timing belt gets worn); dexcool and G 12 are very similar (both non silicated, non hybrid OAT coolants).

G 05 is becoming harder to find however. I can only get it at my local pepboys. Autozone discontinued it.

Please postpics if you can. This would be interesting to see. Motor magazine can be found at most magazine/book stores right?

Motor mag august '04 article on coolant hmm...2-eha is a platiciser(sp)...

I cannot post the pics, sorry. Just imagine the worst scummy-looking brown/black deposits you can imagine verses a new-looking pump. 60% clogged or more.
