Yesterday, I was asking about Sheetz motor oil and who makes it. I filled up there today so I checked a bottle. It said something like HDPE on the bottom. Anybody familiar with anything like that. It was kinda pricey at $2.29 per quart but not as bad as the nearly $3.00 for Pennzoil inside the store.

I believe HDPE designates the type of plastic used in making the bottle.

$3.00 Pennzoil!

Is is a synthetic blend? Probably get it cheaper somewhere else.

I was in a gas station in Green Bay, Wisconsin, a few weeks ago and saw Pennzoil SL Synthetic marked $9.95 a quart!!!

I've seen Pennzoil synthetic at a shell gas station for $12.85 a quart! At that price, go back to that gas station 50 years later and I bet it'll still be there on the shelf.

high-density polyethylene
n. Abbr. HDPE

A strong, relatively opaque form of polyethylene having a dense structure with few side branches off the main carbon backbone.
