I just discovered a 240V outlet in my garage...

Discovered = me walking by it almost every day for the past 5 years and finally thinking about what it was for.

So, is there anything cool I can use it for?
 
Use it for a Welder.
Also you can potentially use it to backfeed your electric panel with a generator, assuming that you know what you are doing (meaning vent the generator exhaust to the outside and open your panels main breaker before tuning on the generator).
 
Yer in Canada: what about a nice big HEATER?

I believe the breaker box said 30? I could be wrong though.

Bad idea and not legal.
