I have several cases of Texaco Ursa HD sae 30 engine oil that was given to me. I was wondering if I could mix this with some auto oil to use in the summer?

If it's the oil in the above spec sheet it's SL rated so go for it.

There is no need to mix it with anything for an Alabama summer.

Why? It's dual rated for both Gasoline and diesel engines.

oil is a precious resource. If there is "old" oil that wasn't used, I would just mix a quart at every oil change with SM oil. I would sleep like a baby at night.

Didn't know. Just that post, to me, made it seem like a diesel-only oil is all.

+1 or use it as make up oil, if your car burns oil. Either way it won't hurt a thing.
