i filled out a form at some amsoil dealer website for a free catalog. a package from amsoil arrived today with alot of papers in it, oddly theres no oil catalog. just papers on becomming a dealer and dealer prices congradulating me on becomming a dealer.

i also got a letter from amsoil congradulating me on becomming a prefered customer and it has 2 customer cards in it.

so what gives? the invoice said somthing about being charged $10. but i never gave my cc into, and my cc hasnt been charged.

Me too, plus I received a CDROM with the marketing scheme and comission payment scheme. When you see the wholesale cost of that stuff and the retail, you wonder why more amsoil sellers arent driveing Hummers.

Sounds like the dealer paid for it himself, without even telling you....I don't like that practice. Kinda sneaky, when and if you order you would now deprive the former BiTOG site sponsor for the SE USA, TooSlick, the miniscule commision which would go to your dealer: TooWeasel

Bob, funny, real funny. The margins are VERY small, and the prices are "suggested retail"....come on give me a break. In fact I say BS!!

EDIT: January net from Amsoil sales total, commision and margin = $4.23. Hummer, here I come! (in say 2078)

so you think this guy who i never talked to in my life paid for my 6 month membership? wow thats kinda cool really. i would have never bothered to become a prefered member, but if someone else wants to pay for it thats ok with me. if a dealer does that, do they have to pay amsoil $10, or do they get a discount on that like they get on other things?

anyone know where i can pick up a amsoil catalog? that was my original intent. :\

crytokid - it's not like it's anything out his pocket. He gets the $10 back from Amsoil. Beleive me he did it to make money, not out of love for you. He will make commision on your purchases now.

But I don't understand why you didn't ask a site sponsor for a catalog!?!?!??!?!?!??? Now you are stuck with that guy. He had better get you a catalog....

This is another reason why it's tough to be a site sponsor here. This site is NOT FREE. The sponsors pay a fee to keep it up, by honoring sponsors, members are supporting this site.

how am i stuck ordering from him? say i wanted to get some oil. couldnt i still contact one of you to make the order?
