I bought a wifi router off Newegg from a third party on May 17th and was supposed to recieve it around May 28th. I just talked to Newegg on chat and they have no record of my purchase. I called the credit card company and $58 was charged for the purchase so I went an cancelled the transaction. Unfortunately I didn't right down the name of the seller so now I can't report them. Is this common from third party sellers on other websites ?

I might be getting duped by a 3rd party seller on Amazon right now. Bought something 2 weeks ago, and USPS tracking still shows that the item is awaiting arrival for shipment. I'll be able to get a refund through Amazon if the seller doesn't send the item by next Wednesday.

Part of this is Amazon "requires" sellers to ship within a certain timeframe so sellers create the shipping label within that timeframe and then can blame the carrier for delays. In fact, until a buyer points it out, Amazon can only go by what the automated systems report. In these cases, the system shows a tracking # and that the items has "shipped".

This is the norm for their new Sure post. Evidently they use a separate carrier like UPS to move the package to the nearest PO and let the USPS make the final local delivery. I have been through this same issue where I get a shipped notification but USPS site says Waiting For Arrival. It seems to always take 2 weeks and then it shows up all of a sudden with no update on the shipping site.

Did you order through Newegg.com or their eBay store? I had a problem with Newegg because I ordered through eBay but used a guest account or something and it wasn't in my regular eBay purchase history. I avoid Newegg 3rd parties.

Hard to say. The last USPS tracking info seen just says:
"Your shipment was received at 12:59 pm on June 2, 2021 in LOS ANGELES, CA 90022. The acceptance of your package is pending."

Not exactly sure what "The acceptance of your package is pending." means. Does it mean the seller never brought the item to the USPS - ?.

Yeah, I think the seller is selling stock that they don't have and just try to delay the shipment as long as possible. I saw the same seller has an eBay store, and the item I bought from them on Amazon didn't show in their eBay store, so I'm betting they don't even have any to ship out. They just created a USPS tracking number.

That part, to me, means the physical package was rec'd and scanned at a PO facility in LA. If they just create a label, the wording is something like "A shipping label was created" but no location is spec'd.
