Hyundai Motor Co plans to build a new electric-vehicle manufacturing plant in the United States and has held discussions with officials in Georgia, near existing plants for the Hyundai and Kia brands, people with knowledge of its plans told Reuters.

It shouldn’t pull jobs from overseas.

Excellent news for my home state. Kia East Point was a huge boost to the economy, now we have Hyundai and Rivian coming on board as well. This on top of Mercedes Benz and Porsche having their North American HQ's in Atlanta.

Don't recall any Hyundai plants closing so doubtful this will pull jobs from elsewhere. Now being only ~3.5 hours from Kia East Point and ~5 hours to Hyundai in Montgomery who knows if they will pull from existing suppliers and truck parts back and forth - I'm not super well versed on auto manufacturing so they may all have their own individual suppliers.

That is only option considering most of Hyundai/KIA suppliers are on I85 corridor between Montgomery and La Grange.
