Just saw this on a Hyundai forum I frequent. The vehicle appears to have been equipped with a standard ignition key, no push button start.

Looks like a it’s becoming a growing problem. I assume push button start vehicles are more complicated to steal. Just a FYI to anyone looking to purchase a Hyundai/Kia to consider one with push button start. I’m glad mine does.

You mean like in the mobster movies after the bad guy is done cranking the engine?
A bit more benign.
Like a SPDT relay that diverts the starter solenoid line to the horn unless you turn on the rear defogger first.
A cube relay and two diodes allow for many possible combinations.

For sure they don't have the PB start models. Pretty secure system and woe be you if you need a new fob.
