Is it safe to use this oil with so much aluminum and iron already in it?

They lost my sample and then found it later. They sent me a free kit, so I ended up with two VOA's. And also they forgot to include the TBN so three VOA's in total for the price of one. Can't complain.

Trace metals in new oil aren't a problem but it's good to know them. What are you using this supercar 0w-20 in? a supercharged v8 jaguar/range rover which calls for 0w-20?

Wrangler with the 3.6. Why other oils don't have this much trace metals?

Hpl supercar in 0w-20 for a 3.6 pentastar? that's something.

Sometimes aluminum can be in the crude oil and it's possible to have the slightest bit of leeching contamination but it's meaningless and has no effect. it's also possible for the aluminum to have been in the additive pack which I don't know if hpl makes on their own or if they buy it from someone like many others. I imagine they source the additive pack.

I think they once said they had a proprietary "boosted" additive pack but I don't know if they're modifying an existing additive pack in the way of added additives to boost it and make it proprietary to them in that way which is then tested against the baseline and or changing the sourced additive pack treat rate.

LOL “so much” at 7PPM?

Please.

The oil is great. Use it with confidence.

The aluminum is between 7 and 9 PPM (that is parts per million) for HPL. It’s a part of the additive - a catalyst, IIRC - and no cause for concern.
Thanks
