This report is as boring as they get. I'd extend the OCI to the maximum allowed by Toyota if you keep using this oil. A larger oil filter might be better for longer OCIs.

I think I’ll go 8500, or so,
on this next run. I just want to watch fuel dilution, even though I don’t anticipate it being much of an issue.

I like how the KV100 is still 9.7 with 2.3% dilution from a 10.0 starting point oil according to the product data sheet. I had 3.3% dilution on a 10.7 kv1000 starting point oil recently (M1 AFE 0W-30) and it was at 8.9 on a 4,000 mile sample. Not sure if the diference is more shear stable (or less) VII, controlled thickening fo the PP PCMO, more mileage to thicken at 6,000, or all of the above. Either way nice result.

So what was your OCI prior to switching to HPL? Every Toyota we've owned since 2010 has recommend a 10k OCI. We've done that for 250k miles on two Toyotas with dealer service. This should be a walk in the park for HPL Premium Plus.

Just to put my money where my mouth is, our 2017 Prius V and 2023 Prius LE will be getting HPL Premium Plus just as soon as it is warm enough outside to do such work. Minus seven degrees here this morning and only eight degrees here tonight. April isn't too far off now...

LOL at the cold comment. I'm in the same boat as are many bitog's. Just wanted to ask 250k total on two Yota's or 250k each?

I purchased the car with approx 40k miles on it. There were only 4 documented oil changes in that time frame. All were done at the Toyota dealer at 10k mile intervals; likely using 0w20 as it calls for 0w16. As soon as I got the car home, I changed the oil with HPL no vII 5w30 and ran that for 4K. I ran a short oci because I didn’t start with the EC, as many do. I then switched to the 0w30 premium plus which I ran for 6k. As stated above, I will likely run this 8500 miles or so. I’m in PA as well, currently -5 F here so I can relate.

If you desire 10k service, then this oil and your dilution rate should handle it easily.
The Carquest Premium filter is no slouch..... good alternate choice at $$$savings.

210k on a 2010 Prius at the time of trade last November. 50k on the 2017 Prius V that is still with us. Our 2023 Prius should be nearing 50k when I take over the service and step it up to HPL Premium Plus.

I see that running 30W in an engine spec’s for 16W had no ill effects (as I would have thought). This leads me to conclude that running 20W in an 8W spec’d Toyota should also be fine? (except for possibly a miniscule hit in MPGs).

I got similar results with off the shelf oil in an old rackety Subaru**

10x less moly in that cheap oil and a grade lower.

So why if you ain't racing to the moon?
