Matco is seriously the worst offender of this. They do have a few items that are made exclusively for them and are not available under the OEM's own line, but other than that, I see very little reason to buy from them.

I believe the Snap-On Student Program is 50% off MSRP for most, but not all items.

For reference, 4/5 of my Snap-On impact swivel sets were recently purchased from eBay or FB Marketplace. Still sealed, paid between 45-55% of current msrp. Deals are out there on popular items if you are patient and ready to pull the trigger.
