How often to grease spindels?

How often and what do you use?

I guess you mean the spindles on the mower deck? I grease the ones on my J-D 54C every 20-25 hrs with J-D 'super polyurea' grease.

Yes, every 20-25hrs is about perfect for your average homeowner. Any more just makes a mess, which you don't want on a belt driven mower deck. I've been using Supertech general purpose lithium grease on my Cub Cadet 2544. 4yrs/125hrs and everything spins like new.

Lucas Red and Tacky every 25 hours

Amsoil Water Resistant Grease at about 50 hours between a couple of pumps. The stuff stays in place and protects them pretty well. Red and Tacky does ok, but I hate working with it because it's so darn stringy

On my Cub 2554 I use Amsoil GHD every 25 hours. It might not be optimum but I only keep one type of grease around now. It seems to work just fine in this application

I use whatever muilti purpose i can find every 20-25hrs on a Craftsman DGS 6500.The sears guy said to give em' 15 pumps everytimetime i grease em'.

15 pumps? That's a lot of grease-if I go over 9 I'm wondering if the gun is working! The Craftsman DGS 6500 must have a log of piping.

] Yes, that would be a LOT of grease from a mini-cartrige gun. Probably a massive mess with a full sized cartridge gun.
