This is all related to my previous posts concerning the knocking, p1351 etc. I don’t understand but this engine (and maybe many others???) have you remove the timing belt on the T’s and replace the new one on the vertical marks about 1 inch to the left of the T’s. Check out YouTube timing belt LS 400. I don’t think I am explaining it correctly. Or I don’t understand it myself.
My backyard mechanic screwed things up initially with the VVT’s and my Lexus mechanic said he has no clue (leaning to ECM) so I’m with a Toyota mechanic. The Lexus mechanic said timing was off by 1 tooth and supposedly fixed it but only the p1346 went away.
The Toyota mechanic is saying the timing is off. I was thinking just remove “new” belt and reinstall but the markings on the belt are already gone. So, I’m getting a new Toyota belt. LS400 runs great like it is.
