How dumb can she get, and what comes next?

I have surmised over the years that a college education leaves LOTS of "gaps", for lack of a better term.
It is the parents job to fill those gaps, hopefully before starting that said college education.
If this does not happen, there are plenty of people out there that are willing to fill in the gaps for those parents. College professors seem to be especially adept at filling those gaps with socialistic ideals, and other things not necessarily based in common sense.

Yep. My stepdaughter is a school teacher with a masters degree and she is the self proclaimed smartest person in the family.

Guess what... She is not.

The goofy stories like that never end. She has not put water in the gas tank but she does other stuff that usually ends up costing her way too much money to fix.

My wife, to my amazement, said out loud that our fifteen year old is her smartest kid. My stepdaughter flipped. My stepson is currently in the police academy. Hes no rocket scientist either. Good kid but certainly no mechanic. Police Dept will be a good fit for him.
I can't imagine arguing over the smartest person in the family title and advocating for oneself. Whenever this comes up in my family or another very smart family, everyone defers to another person. My wife continously says I'm a rare person that is very book smart and can also fix cars and stuff. Eh, lots of people both smarter and more mechanically able than me. But I'm happy she thinks highly of me.

I've never felt the need to tell my kids that cars run on gasoline and only gasoline or that the oil serves an important function. I do reinforce and remind them that the oil needs to get changed periodically lest they forget.

Parents must educate their children. These newfangled Smart phones are so consuming, much practical education is being bypassed.
You used to get some peer level education too, I don't know how well that is going these days either.

A good number of people are specialized idiots.

A biologist, a chemist, and a statistician are out hunting. The biologist shoots at a deer and misses 5ft to the left, the chemist takes a shot and misses 5ft to the right, and the statistician yells, "We got him!"

Did you hear about the statistician who drowned walking across a river with an average depth of 3'?
