how do i tell whats in my car?

Do you know when it was changed last? Especially if not, I'd get a full, proper flush out done and replaced with the right fluid (G-05?).
I agree with JHZR2, I would flush the cooling system properly and then use some Zerex G-05 (which is equivalent to Ford Yellow). Yellow is the longer life coolant when compared to green.

Edit: If it's a top up from evaporating, just add water. The antifreeze doesn't evaporate.

I would do a fall, spring and fall drain and fill of the radiator with Zerex G-05 and then maybe go back to once every 2-3 years.
