anybody have any idea of what the torque spec may be for headbolts to a honda lawnmower engine?
Lawnmower is a Honda HR194. Not sure of engine model, but it's an OHV engine.
I don't know the head bolt diameter and thread at the moment, but I remember it needing a 12mm socket. So I'm guessing bolt diameter is either 10mm or 8mm.
The head and block are aluminum. Not sure of the bolt material as I don't have the head off yet but I doubt the bolt is aluminum.

If Honda can't get you real specs., try 12-15 ft. lbs., with lightly lubed threads.
You don't want to tighten them too much - warping and stripping can occur.
There is no coolant to seal, just compression.

i dont know if its related but on my jr dragster with a 5hp briggs engine we torqued the head to 150 in-lbs (~12 ft-lbs). you would be surprised how strong those threads are. one time before i knew that the click was when you are supposed to stop i severely overtightened the head bolts, broke a bolt before any threads were damaged.
